Who Are We?

The Founders

The Key Journal Program has been constructed by Mitchell Briggs and Nick Newman.

Nick Newman, a Director of Steinbok Brands, and Mitchell Briggs, owner of a semi-private gym in Erina and currently studying to become a counsellor, created The Key Journal from their shared experiences with self-development.

Nick’s journey began while living overseas playing Rugby League, where he turned to journaling to regain structure, process challenges and stay aligned with his goals. Similarly, through his own experiences with mental health, Mitchell developed a strong connection to journaling and personal development, recognising the positive impact it had on his routine, mindset and overall direction.

Together, they built The Key Journal program using practical strategies that have helped them navigate challenges and maintain consistency in their own lives. Since launching in 2020, the program has supported hundreds of individuals to build structure, develop clarity and take meaningful steps toward their goals. Today, it is delivered by a growing team through structured sessions designed to support skill development, independence and lasting change.

The Key Journal and its programs are important to me because they serve as tools for individuals to dive into the fundamentals needed for holistic personal and physical growth. Our program foundations consistently yield positive results and being able to provide this brings immense satisfaction.

The impact I hope to make by providing our services is one of real holistic change – one where a participant can look back and understand why and how they have developed physically and mentally along the journey.

My favorite aspect of running our programs is witnessing participants wholeheartedly engage leaving no stone unturned. The reward for me, comes from witnessing the impactful positive changes we make in people’s lives.

The Key Journal and its programs are deeply significant to me because they embody my passion for holistic health and serving others. Witnessing individuals embark on transformative journeys towards better physical and mental health resonates profoundly with my purpose in life. The journal-based approach coupled with physical movement serves as a catalyst for sustainable change, which creates a sense of empowerment and fulfillment in each participant that we work with.

My aim with The Key Journal is to build profound personal growth and positive lifestyle shifts within our community by directly impacting those we work with. By facilitating sessions focused on personal development, self-reflection and real-life health practices, I aspire to empower individuals to unlock their full potential and create habits that enhance their overall well-being. Ultimately, I seek to inspire lasting change that individuals take into their life, even outside of  our program.

My favorite part of running our programs is seeing the real changes in each participant. Whether it’s someone having an “aha” moment during journaling or feeling the physical benefits of regular movement, it’s these concrete shifts that excite me. I aim to create a supportive space where individuals feel motivated to take on challenges, make positive changes, and find fulfillment. Together, we’re working towards a healthier future—one practical step at a time.

The Key Journal’s program is giving individuals the opportunity to make significant changes in their life for the better. Being a part of something bigger than myself and seeing people make these changes is truly inspiring and I believe we can offer more in the NDIS space.

My ultimate goal with my involvement in the Key Journal is to be able to provide an amazing service like this to as many people as possible. I want to be able to continue to work towards creating an environment that individuals can thrive in and become the best versions of themselves.

Taking individuals through the movement part of the program is by far the most rewarding. Movement in itself is its own form of medicine and to see individuals gaining a level of self confidence and belief that they haven’t felt before is a feeling that can’t be described. By implementing a program like this, I truly believe we can set individuals up with better, long term sustained habits that will make their quality of life significantly better.

Ever since I first learned about The Key Journal and the program a couple of years ago, I’ve found it to be an incredibly valuable tool. It not only helps individuals improve their time management skills but also provides insights into self-discovery.
With features like daily affirmations, goal setting, notes to self and daily reflections,
individuals can prioritise their well-being and focus on what needs to be accomplished each day for success. The physical exercise aspect of the program is also crucial, as it allows individuals to witness both physical and mental growth and development.

I am dedicated to effecting change and building meaningful connections with others.
Using the tools I’ve acquired, I’m passionate about guiding individuals to build their character and personality. I aim create a safe, comfortable environment where they
can freely explore their potential and delve into the mental and physical components of the Key Journal program.

Drawing from my own life experiences and understanding each individual we work
with, my aim is to establish a relatable connection. I aspire to motivate people to
outgrow their current limits and most importantly, to emphasize that embarking on this journey means we are friends for life!!!

The best part of running the program for me is the initial meet-up. I get a kick out of
seeing how thrilled the clients are when they show up for a session. At the same time, I take pride in being able to pick up on any lack of enthusiasm, which might be due to other stuff going on in their lives. But by the end of the session, we’ve usually had a blast, and they’re all geared up to take on the day. They walk away feeling proud of themselves, thanks to the journaling and physical exercise we’ve done together.

The Key Journal is a structured program to help individuals change their lives for the better. The thoughtful program is designed to open people’s perspective of their life. It provides guidance on how to practice gratitude, better help plan their days/ weeks, document goals as well as physical activity. These are all things I’ve done myself for many years and truly understand the benefits of every aspect of The Key Journal program.

I hope to be able to use my own skills in the physical and mental health space along side the structured program to support and provide tailored support to each individual.

I am extremely passionate with the work that I do. I love listening to peoples stories, hearing their past struggles and knowing I will do everything in my power to help them feel supported and safe. Seeing growth in each client is extremely rewarding, whether its mental, physical or a better habit they’ve managed to create in their life. Any impact big or small is always worth celebrating. The Key Journal allows space for all of that. Seeing the smiles on the clients face, knowing they are walking away happier, healthier and more content than when they walked in is a feeling that will never fade.

The Key Journal is an incredible program because it provides people with valuable tools in their individual journey of self discovery. As humans, finding our purpose is so important and The Key Journal helps create a space to flourish that purpose. It’s amazing to see and feel the shift in one’s self confidence through creating clear direction.

For me, I hope to positively impact as many people’s lives as possible through mindset and movement. The power of reflection through journaling and clarity through moving your body is indescribable. Helping people find this power is just the best. Being in their corner and showing them you believe in them, is exactly what I hope to achieve – so then this domino’s into them believing in themself too!

My favourite aspect is definitely being someone’s space for vulnerability but also power. Sitting with them to say, I’m here for you, I believe in you and I can’t wait to see your success. If I can contribute to someone’s life trajectory in a positive way, the pleasure is mine.

I heard about the Key Journal a few years ago when it was just a journal & what stood out initially to me was the schedule starting at an early time I couldn’t find anything that didn’t have a schedule before 8-9am, however since finding out how it’s progressed. This journal is a tool I believe could have been so beneficial to me throughout some challenging moments in my life. I believe it is something everyone should experience and benefit from.

My purpose is to share my lived experiences to help guide others who may experience similar challenges, Having lived with depression, anxiety & suicide ideology. I have experienced a lot of things in real time to what I know many face in silence. It’s my purpose to spread the message that seeking help and speaking out is what should become normal, but more so that being a person who others can come to in times of need. If I can help just 1 person through a challenging time or brighten their day to guide them on the path. To me, that is special

My favourite part so far has been the guidance through the journal aspect, being able to connect and listen without any judgment & help my participant feel seen and heard.

The Key Journal and its programs are important to me because I believe they are a great way to support people beyond just medication. They help people tackle day-to-day challenges, develop practical skills, and grow as individuals. Ever since I learnt about The Key Journal, I knew I wanted to be part of it. Being able to give people practical tools to make positive changes and improve their lives is something I really value. Knowing how much The Key Journal could help people close to me back in the UK makes me feel extremely grateful that I have the opportunity to help people through it here.

Through my involvement with The Key Journal, I hope to make a positive and lasting difference in people’s lives by helping them develop practical tools and strategies they can use in their everyday lives. I want people to feel more capable of managing the challenges they face, while also having the confidence and support to grow and make positive changes.

My favourite aspect of running The Key Journal programs is seeing people take the tools we provide and apply them to their own lives. I really enjoy seeing the small changes people make, whether that’s gaining confidence, developing healthier habits, changing their mindset, or finding better ways to manage the challenges they face.
